PERSONAL EXPERT HELP
Problem Intensive
One defined emotional problem. One concentrated piece of expert work. No open-ended commitment.
Designed for recurring problems that are specific enough to examine deeply without beginning an indefinite therapeutic or coaching relationship.
IS THIS THE RIGHT FORMAT?
An Intensive suits a specific problem that deserves more than a general conversation.
It tends to fit when the problem recurs, you can describe situations in which it happens, you want individualized analysis, and you are willing to do structured preparation before the meeting.
Choose a Consultation when…
you primarily have one focused question and expert perspective is likely to be enough.
Choose an Intensive when…
you want one problem mapped deeply and translated into a structured plan.
Choose a Sprint when…
the problem probably needs repeated practice, review and adjustment after the first formulation.
SUITABLE PROBLEMS
The container stays the same. The problem context changes.
Decisions & uncertainty
“I need certainty before I can decide.” “I keep reopening decisions.”
Motivation & avoidance
“I know what to do but can’t make myself start.” “I keep escaping into easier stimulation.”
Reactivity & frustration
“My fuse has become too short.” “My anger keeps going after the event.”
Caring & boundaries
“I feel responsible for everybody else’s emotions.” “I say yes and then resent people.”
Work, productivity & enjoyment
“Everything has become a task.” “I feel guilty when I’m not productive.”
HOW IT WORKS
A structured process before, during and after the meeting.
Before
You complete a focused pre-session questionnaire. The questions are adapted to the problem territory rather than using a generic intake form.
During
We map the pattern, identify likely maintaining mechanisms, distinguish useful emotional function from costly rigidity, and design a small number of concrete next experiments.
After
You receive a concise written formulation, the main mechanisms identified, and an individualized action framework or set of experiments to return to afterwards.
THE WORKING MAP
The basic analytic structure is simple enough to reuse across very different problems.
WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH
Concrete outputs matter more than vague promises.
The aim is a working explanation of the pattern, a map of the triggers and responses that keep it going, a distinction between what can be changed and what must be tolerated, and a small number of practical experiments or rules to test afterwards.
COMPARE FORMATS
Choose the amount of work the problem actually needs.
SCOPE
What the Intensive is, and where its limits are.
The Problem Intensive is an educational and consultative service focused on emotional functioning. It is not psychotherapy, psychiatric care, crisis support or medical diagnosis. Some emotional difficulties can reflect medical conditions, psychiatric disorders, trauma-related conditions or other problems that require different assessment or treatment. Where that appears likely, a different form of support may be more appropriate.
